I have very mean thoughts lately.

We have a neighbour downstairs. According to the other neighbours she is in her 90s and doesn’t leave her room most of the time. I think she is deaf judging by the loudness of her TV, or radio, or whatever she listens to. Despite the fact that this building has very thick walls (for the UK that is - I mean they are actually solid and not those empty in between couple of layers of plasterboards like they tend to do nowadays in the UK), it is very loud. Of cause I understand that it is perfectly legal after 7, but nowadays she often starts making this noise at 6 am. Now, my question is: if you have been a pensioner for nearly half a century and don’t leave your room, why on earth do you need to get up at 6 am?

I also heard a gossip that the reason we have got quite a good price for this flat is that she drove out all the previous tenants by constantly calling the landlady and complaining about the noise. We are the first ones she is ok with. Now, she was quite deaf already when we moved in. So, what noise was she complaining about before us?

Normally, in the UK, in a situation like this I would simply write a neighbour a letter about his/her noise with dates, and times, and types of noise, and how it affects us. And normally they would write me back with their apology. But somehow I am afraid to write to this one about her noise. What if she is crazy and would get upset and would start constantly complaining about us too? Maybe she will die soon. Yes, I know – very mean thoughts.

Winter olympic games.

I was watching the winter olympic games the other day. A bunch of silly dudes were polishing an icy surface with mops in front of some silly moving thingy. It occurred to me: how much spare time does one needs to waste to come up with these stupid games in the first place? And how much one needs spare time to waste in order to watch this silliness. I mean: I bet they don’t grab a mop at home and polish the floor with same vigour – which would have made so much more sense. Who, on earth, gives a sh*t whose silly thing moved on ice farther?! If I was a governor, I would have never given a penny for this stupidness.

And speaking of silliness: when is the last time a country made a profit from the olympic games? 80s something? Considering this, Russia with over a million homeless children in just a Moscow city alone made a really “wise” decision to spend tons of money one Sochi olympic games. Fa**ing fools!

I had time to scrapbook some more of my old photos this week. These photos are from 2004.

Avatar 3D.

I think that pretty much every blogger has posted about Avatar already. I will join the crowd and write: I saw Avatar in 3D. I haven’t been to cinema in a very long time, but for 3D I changed PJs for jeans and dragged my butt out. I enjoyed this movie a lot. It is beautiful and, in my opinion, has a good plot.

Avatar also reminded me about my old post, where I mentioned that people in the 60s and 70s used to believe that by the year 2000 we would have towns on other planets. This movie made me feel a little bit sad for the future we never had.  Unfortunately, after the collapse of the USSR, cosmos exploration not only did not progress, but seems to have regressed. I guess it is because for now it is purely a socialistic and idealistic science. It is not commercially feasible, as it does not provide quick financial gain. Money is spent simply on learning. Instead of towns on other planets, we have now smaller individualistic products, such as personal phones, PCs, ipods, etc. Instead of expanding into the cosmos and possibly meet other civilisations, we are becoming more introvert. We are locking ourselves in homes individually and expand into virtual reality. How many towns have you built in PC games? Lots, right? Me too. Although, judging by what happened in the movie, maybe it is for the best. Maybe, while humans confine themselves voluntarily in their cubicles and shoeboxes they do less harm to other possible civilisations.

Attracting Abundance with EFT by Carol Look (ebook).

It is a sort of a workbook. It gives the practical exercises for one of the well known energy therapies – EFT. This book particularly targets financial success. Carol goes through many types of mental blocks, which can hinder one’s success. The reader is expected to ask herself few questions to determine whether a certain type of mental block is the obstacle. Then, as you guessed, one use EFT to release this block. The reader is advised to do exercises regularly for some time, like a month or so, in order to achieve a result. I chose few exercises from the book. I’ll try to do them regularly, if I don’t forget, as an experiment. We’ll see if it will make me ostentatiously reach :)
